Wanting God To Walk on Our Campus |
|
What would it look like if God showed up in all His glory on the APSU campus? What are His dreams, desires, ideals for our student community? This is what we believe God desires us to pursue:
Every student, faculty and staff member would recognize that God is God. People who claim Christ as their Lord are united and loving one another. Living for God and pursuing pleasure in God replaces partying and overshadows worldly pleasures. The attitude and heart of self-sacrifice, putting others before oneself replaces the pursuit of preserving oneself. The campus becomes a place of healing, freedom, and safety for those living in and struggling with addictions. All people, though lost and broken, are recognized and valued as the beauty of creation they are. The words, God and Christian, are spoken of as good and honorable on campus. Family trees of students are completely changed as the blessing of surrendering to God becomes a blessing for future generations. Christians are open, honest, and real about their struggles and brokenness. All this is done in an atmosphere of prayer and hope. Students and professors see this educational experience as something to be used for God and His glory rather than a means for security, pleasure and power. God’s truth is spoken as a natural part of our interactions with one another. Students are able to discuss their faith and spirituality openly in the classroom and out. God becomes greater, we become less.
